Since our founding in 1971, Steon have evolved into a well-established commercial lighting manufacturer with a proud heritage and sustainable practices.
Everything, from initial product design and testing, to development and manufacturing, is undertaken at our premises in Lancashire. This is the main hub of our activities as it also is the main base of operation for our sales team, support technicians, lighting and product design teams.
At Steon we apply our expertise to all design, testing, development, and manufacturing processes to ensure that we remain at the forefront of the lighting industry.
We offer a comprehensive range of high specification LED luminaires which boast optimum performance and enhanced reliability whilst remaining energy conscious.

Timeline of Events
JJ Lighting Supplies Ltd was incorporated on the 26th May under company registration number 1012454.
Having strategically refocused on lighting, the company underwent a rebrand and continued to trade a Lamps & Lighting Ltd.
Nigel Walton assumed the position of Managing Director following the retirement of his father, John Walton.
In the interest of expanding in-house manufacture, the business moved to larger purpose-built premises in Hapton, Burnley.
Having introduced an innovative range of intelligent controls, Lamps & Lighting Ltd found success in the telecommunications sector.
The Steon® brand was introduced to encompass the technical lighting solutions that were being manufactured in-house.
To better represent the branching product portfolio, a further two brands were introduced, Luxace® and Historix®.
With the increasing adoption of LEDs and the phasing out of conventional lamps, the company underwent a second rebrand to trade as Steon Ltd.
Steon Ltd joined the prestigious Lighting Industry Association (LIA) and received a prize for excellency in their inaugural year.
As ethically conscious manufacturer, Steon are proud of their affiliation with the Made-in-Britain Campaign.
Steon introduced a range of wireless control systems, namely: PRO ECO®, bluCONNECT® and SMARTMESH®.
Steon heavily invest in enhancing their in-house testing capabilities, including the acquisition of a gonio-spectroradiometer.
Steon celebrate their 50th anniversary, marking the occasions with the launch of their new website.
In September 2022, Guy Lingard Ramsbotom is appointed as the new Managing Director.
Our recent projects
In 2021 Steon became members of the Philips EnabLED licensing programme. We are an official licensee and authorised to use the patent technology of Philips within our products.

At Steon we pride ourselves on our ‘Made in Britain’ marque. As an environmentally conscious manufacturer, we are passionate about keeping our carbon footprint to a minimum and sourcing our materials and components locally wherever possible. We also ensure our own supply chain members share our philosophy to minimising our environmental impact.
